Progress

"Progress means getting nearer to the place you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning, then to go forward does not get you any nearer.
If you are on the wrong road, progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road; and in that case the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man." - C.S. Lewis (Mere Christianity)

In my art studies I feel as though I have turned around and returned to the fork in the road and began the journey anew. I have learned more in the past few weeks than I could have imagined and I am so thankful to God for strengthening my eyes to see and blessing the work of my hands. He is awesome. :D

Updates

The first two images shown below are from the end of last trimester and I am finally posting them! :D I am so amazed with how much I have learned and yet I still have such a long long long way to go. The Bargue drawing took 5 weeks to complete (this time period included 1 do-over). It may not look like much, but this drawing taught me more than I could have imagined. I am happy with how the figure drawing turned out, but I hope to do so much better on this next one.

NOW...on to the new trimester which commenced on Monday.  I hope to have this Bargue drawing, my second one, done within the next week. I am excited about this figure drawing. So far so good... :)

True Treasure

He is my treasure.

"The man who has God for his treasure has all things in One...Whatever he may lose he has actually lost nothing, for he now has it all in One, and he has it purely, legitimately and forever." - A. W. Tozer

Wherever this journey may lead me, may I always, like Moses, "regard disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt..."

Whatever may come my way, may I, like Paul, "consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord..."

And may I, like King David, "follow Him with all my heart, doing only what is right in His eyes."

I can never repay Him for what He has given me, but I want to spend the rest of my life glorifying Him, whatever the cost of that may be. He is my treasure and walking with Him in pursuit of Him is the grand adventure of my life.
